Lindsay Costigan

Lindsay is a Senior Archaeologist at Austral and has nearly 8 years’ experience in archaeology. Lindsay began her career in the USA, graduating top of her class from Eastern Oregon University and carried out numerous projects in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho as a heritage consultant for a civil engineering company.

Lindsay has completed projects in coordination with Native American tribes, Aboriginal communities, local councils, and a variety of government entities. Lindsay has experience working with both Aboriginal and historic-era cultural resources and assessing archaeological significance under federal and state legislation while assisting clients navigate cultural resource legislation and processes.

Lindsay’s experience includes project management, designing field methodologies, carrying out surveys and excavations, report-writing and review, mapping and GIS, analysis of a wide variety of artifact types, artifact curation, and mitigation. Lindsay also serves as a team leader in the eastern region from Austral’s Illawarra office, assigning tasks to team members, as well as assisting and mentoring them, and managing the Albion Park office.
